Josh Golden:

I started lifting weights at age twelve. In high school I played sports
and continued to lift every day. I played football, baseball, and pole
vaulting. I also wrestled, where I placed third in the state of
Maryland. After all of my schooling I helped open and managed a personal
training gym in Washington DC. I always implemented different high
intensity movements into my training. It was not until I moved to
Hollywood in 2011 that I joined my first CrossFit gym. The day I joined
was the first day of the open and I placed 122nd that year. The
following year I moved to Central Coast to work at CrossFit Grover
Beach. There I continued to train and went to the Regionals in 2012. The
following year I entered as many competitions as I could, including the
OC throw down. This year I opened up a box, CrossFit Nipomo where I
have kept my head down and focused on weaknesses, mainly weight lifting.
My girlfriend, Casey Hutnick is an excellent Olympic lifter. With
Casey's help and the help of my Coach Charles Shipman from Be Strong
Athletics, I have made huge gains in technique and I am excited for this
coming competition season.
